OVERVIEW

The Ortofon CC MKII DIGITAL Concorde MKII Digital Cartridge is designed specifically for DJs using timecode vinyl and DVS systems. Its optimised 10 mV output improves the signal-to-noise ratio reaching software, while the controlled 20-18,000 Hz frequency range helps minimise decoding errors caused by vinyl wear and crackle. Additionally, its spherical diamond stylus and aluminium cantilever provide reliable tracking for demanding DJ use.

Timecode Vinyl Optimisation: The Concorde MKII Digital specifically supports timecode vinyl by reducing factors that can interfere with accurate signal interpretation. Consequently, DJs can work with DVS setups while helping their timecoded records last longer.

10 mV Output: The cartridge delivers a 10 mV output at 1 kHz and 5 cm/sec. Furthermore, this optimised output improves the signal-to-noise ratio of the audio reaching the software. Therefore, the timecode signal receives a stronger source for more effective interpretation.

Reduced Timecode Errors: The DIGITAL reduces reproduction in frequencies where vinyl wear and crackle commonly occur. As a result, the cartridge helps minimise errors when software interprets the timecode signal during DVS operation.

20-18,000 Hz Frequency Range: The cartridge uses a 20-18,000 Hz frequency range to support its timecode-focused design. This controlled response reduces unnecessary reproduction of frequencies associated with vinyl wear and crackle.

Spherical Diamond Stylus: The spherical diamond stylus uses an R 18 μm tip radius for consistent groove contact. Additionally, this design works with the aluminium cantilever to provide reliable tracking during DJ applications.

Reliable Tracking: The cartridge achieves 100 μm tracking ability at 315 Hz and supports a 3–5 g tracking force range. Ortofon recommends a 4 g tracking force for the cartridge during operation.

Conventional Vinyl Playback: Although the DIGITAL targets timecode applications, it also provides suitable output voltage and sound quality for conventional vinyl. Therefore, DJs can use the cartridge for both digital vinyl control and traditional record playback.

Direct Tonearm Mounting: The Concorde design uses a Bayonet/SME mounting format, allowing the cartridge to attach directly to compatible tonearms. Ortofon explains that Concorde cartridges attach directly to the tonearm without requiring a separate headshell.
