Body and Construction: The Epiphone EEHB-EB Hummingbird Pro features a classic square shoulder body style with a distinctive Hummingbird shape. It combines a solid spruce top with a mahogany body, back, and sides. This construction ensures a rich, resonant tone. The top is bound with 6-ply ivory/black binding, while the back is bound with 2-ply ivory/black, providing a visually striking contrast. The gloss finish enhances both the appearance and durability of the guitar.
Neck and Fingerboard: The guitar’s neck is crafted from select mahogany and features a SlimTaper™ D profile. It has a scale length of 628.0 mm (24.724 in), providing comfortable playability. The pau ferro fingerboard, with a 304.8 mm (12 in) radius, features 20 medium jumbo frets and pearloid twin parallelogram inlays. The nut is made from PVC and has a width of 43.0 mm (1.692 in), ensuring smooth playability across the frets. The neck joint is a set dovetail at the 14th fret, contributing to the guitar’s stability and tone.
Hardware and Electronics: Equipped with Grover® Rotomatic® 18:1 tuning machines, the Hummingbird Pro maintains precise tuning. The bridge is crafted from pau ferro with a reverse belly design, and the saddle is compensated for optimal intonation. The distinctive Hummingbirdâ„¢ pickguard adds to the guitar’s classic look. The electronics include a Fishman® Sonicoreâ„¢ under-saddle pickup and a Fishman® Sonitoneâ„¢ preamp with soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls. The 1/4″ endpin jack is complemented by a 9-volt battery, included with the guitar.
Miscellaneous: The Hummingbird Pro comes with optional cases: the Acoustic AJ/Dreadnought Hard Case 940-EDREAD and the Dread/AJ Acoustic EpiLiteâ„¢ Case 940-EDREADHG. It uses Gibsonâ„¢ Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with gauges of .012″, .016″, .024″w, .032″, .042″, and .053″.
