Rigid Suspension: The VNL II features a rigid suspension with 15 μm/mN dynamic lateral compliance. This design provides a firmer stylus response, making it suitable for DJs who prefer a more controlled feel during vinyl performance.
Spherical Stylus Profile: The spherical stylus follows the record groove while supporting reliable playback during DJ use. Its design works with the VNL cartridge system and provides a practical option for demanding turntable applications.
6 mV Output Voltage: The VNL II produces 6 mV output at 1 kHz and 5 cm/sec. This output provides a strong signal from the cartridge, supporting clear and consistent audio reproduction through compatible DJ equipment.
90 μm Tracking Ability: With a 90 μm tracking ability at 315 Hz, the VNL II maintains dependable contact with the record groove. This helps the stylus follow demanding musical passages while maintaining stable vinyl playback.
Flexible Tracking Force Range: The VNL II supports a 3–5 g tracking force range, giving DJs room to adjust the setup according to their preferred performance requirements. Ortofon recommends 4 g as the standard tracking force.
Interchangeable VNL System: The VNL II forms part of Ortofon’s interchangeable VNL stylus system. DJs can therefore change between compatible VNL styli while keeping the cartridge body, allowing them to select different suspension characteristics.
Wide Frequency Response: The stylus provides a 20 Hz–20 kHz frequency response with a specified tolerance of -2/+4 dB. This range supports reproduction across the audible frequency spectrum during compatible vinyl playback.
Designed for DJ Performance: The VNL II suits DJs who want a rigid stylus option within the VNL system. Its tracking specifications and adjustable force range support the practical demands of active turntable performance.
