Since then, she has released multiple acclaimed albums and earned a Grammy nomination. She has also toured internationally and collaborated with some of music’s biggest names.
A Gibson Signature with Meaning
One of the latest milestones in Price’s career is her partnership with Gibson. The collaboration resulted in the Gibson Margo Price J-45 signature acoustic guitar.
Handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana, the guitar draws inspiration from her treasured mid-1960s J-45.
It features elegant dual pickguards showcasing a symbolic red-tailed hawk design.
Price unveiled the instrument during a special performance at Nashville’s Gibson Garage. She performed several of her original songs during the event.
Reflecting on the collaboration, she said:
“I’ve been playing Gibson guitars for over two and a half decades, so it’s an absolute dream come true to have a signature model.”
She describes the guitar as “strong but soft”, reflecting her own personality. The prototype has already become her trusted songwriting and touring companion.
A Symbol of Strength and Hope
The red-tailed hawk motif carries deeply personal meaning. It represents strength, perseverance and hope.
For Price, the bird serves as a reminder to embrace vulnerability while remaining resilient. These qualities reflect the values she hopes every musician experiences when playing the instrument.
