AlphaTheta SLAB MIDI Pad Controller
*Proaudio does not currently have the AlphaTheta SLAB in stock. This blog provides an introduction to the product.*
Bringing Beat-Making Back to Its Roots
When AlphaTheta and Serato join forces, innovation follows. The AlphaTheta SLAB MIDI pad controller proves that vision immediately. As the first MIDI pad controller designed for Serato Studio, the AlphaTheta SLAB MIDI pad controller restores instinctive, hands-on beat-making. SLAB returns music creation to fingers, not a mouse. It removes unnecessary complexity and strengthens creative connection. Producers, DJs, and creators gain a tool that feels immediate, expressive, and musical. Every feature sharpens workflow speed and keeps creativity natural.
Pads That Feel Alive
SLAB features 16 velocity-sensitive RGB pads that respond accurately to every touch. Soft ghost notes, heavy kicks, and fast rolls translate with precision and feel. The pad grid doubles as an intuitive step-sequencer. Users paint beats, adjust swing, tweak velocity, and shape rhythm directly from hardware. There is no setup and no mapping. SLAB connects instantly to samples and kits.
A Workflow Designed for Flow
SLAB keeps creators locked in the creative zone. The large multi-function Dial enables effortless browsing, scrubbing, chopping, and editing. Hover over a parameter in Serato Studio, and the Dial controls it instantly. Touch-sensitive encoders provide direct access to EQ, FX, stems, filters, and sound shaping, while the built-in display delivers clean visual feedback. A long touch strip sweeps filters, bends pitch, modulates effects, and performs transitions smoothly. The hardware feels modern, yet the workflow feels classic and instinctive.
Built for Serato Creators
SLAB integrates deeply with Serato Studio and behaves like a true software extension. It controls sampling, sequencing, stems, effects, automation, and performance instantly. DJs moving into production gain a powerful creative bridge. Producers streamline workflows and remove friction. Finger-drummers and pad-players feel instantly at home. SLAB also works seamlessly with Serato Sample and Serato DJ Pro, fitting naturally in studios, DJ booths, and live performance setups.
Why SLAB Matters
SLAB focuses on one goal: bringing creators closer to creativity. It removes barriers between ideas and finished music. The pads feel expressive, the controls feel intuitive, and the workflow invites experimentation. SLAB reminds creators why beat-making became powerful and global. Music creation feels best when it stays physical, immediate, and emotional.
