Welcome to the world of Padre Guilherme. Born Guilherme Peixoto in Portugal in 1974, he became a Catholic priest in 1999 and never planned global fame. For years, he served quietly in his parish and worked as a military chaplain abroad. Music remained present in his life, but not in the way the world would later experience.

His DJ journey began unexpectedly while organizing social events and community gatherings. He discovered electronic music could unite people in powerful ways. Small local DJ sets raised funds for parish initiatives, and those modest beginnings soon expanded far beyond local gatherings. When the pandemic closed churches, communities felt isolated and disconnected. Padre Guilherme responded by livestreaming DJ sets online from his parish. His defining moment arrived at World Youth Day in Lisbon in 2023. He performed a sunrise electronic set for thousands gathered before the closing Mass. The image of a priest playing techno before a sea of joyful faces spread worldwide. It did not feel like a gimmick. It felt authentic, joyful, and culturally significant — a new way for faith and modern life to intersect.
From Rio to International Festivals
Since then, Padre Guilherme has performed in extraordinary locations around the globe. One highlight included playing beneath Rio de Janeiro’s Christ the Redeemer statue. He now appears at major festivals and international events across Europe and beyond. His sets sound energetic and contemporary while carrying clear intention.
