Battle-Style Layout: The DDJ-REV1 features a new battle-style layout designed to mimic the setup of 2 x PLX turntables and a DJM-S series mixer. This configuration allows DJs to perform scratching and mixing techniques with ease. The control arrangement maximizes the available space, making it intuitive for both beginners and professionals to manipulate effects, trigger samples, and seamlessly scratch tracks.
Enhanced Jog Wheels: With larger jog wheels that match the size found on higher-end controllers, the DDJ-REV1 enhances the scratching experience. The substantial dimensions improve precision and responsiveness, enabling DJs to perform intricate techniques. This feature caters especially well to open-format and scratch DJs who require finer control.
Lever FX: The Lever FX feature allows DJs to apply dynamic effects from Serato DJ Lite. By pulling the levers down, users can create short bursts of effects, while pushing them up locks on the effects, freeing hands for scratching or browsing tracks. This hands-on approach enhances creativity during live performances.
Tracking Scratch: The Tracking Scratch feature simplifies the scratching process by automatically returning the track to the cue point when moving the jog wheel. This functionality saves time and effort, allowing DJs to focus on their performance without worrying about manually closing the fader or losing the cue point.
Mixed Microphone Audio: For the first time in a controller at this level, the DDJ-REV1 combines microphone input with master audio output. This integration allows DJs to add vocal elements without external mixers or sound cards, making it perfect for live streaming. All audio is routed through Serato DJ Lite, streamlining the performance setup.
Serato DJ Lite Integration: The DDJ-REV1 comes with full support for Serato DJ Lite software, allowing immediate use upon connecting via USB. DJs can manipulate features and effects directly from the controller’s buttons, knobs, and jog wheels. The Scratch Bank pad mode also lets users load scratch samples instantly from four banks assigned in the software.
Portability and Power: This controller is designed for portability, weighing just 2.1 kg. It is USB bus-powered, eliminating the need for an external power supply. The built-in sound card and class-compliant features allow for easy plug-and-play functionality on PC or Mac without the need for additional drivers.
