Rock Roots and Soulful Blossoms
Adèle Fouché brings together raw rock energy and spiritual depth in a way few artists can. Best known as the magnetic lead vocalist and guitarist of SAARKIE, Adèle Fouché has inspired audiences for nearly 20 years.
A multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and storyteller, she continues to move fans with fearless authenticity. Her solo project PEMA reveals a more introspective side, exploring healing, spirituality, and emotional rebirth. With its country-folk aesthetic, the music remains both personal and universally resonant.
Early Love for Music
Adèle’s love for music began early. As a teenager, a festival in Potchefstroom reignited her passion. Watching Riana Nel create songs from audience words inspired her deeply. Soon after, her parents gifted her a purple acoustic guitar, sparking her lifelong musical journey.

Multi-Instrumental Expression
Adèle is not only a vocalist but also a guitarist, ukulele player, and harmonica player. She learned guitar with a teacher and developed other skills on her own. Each instrument offers unique melodies and rhythms, adding vibrant colors to her creative palette.
The Birth of PEMA
Adèle created PEMA during a period of healing from anxiety and addiction. Inspired by spirituality, she embraced optimism and growth. PEMA, meaning lotus flower, reflects her rebirth. Adding Africa to the name highlights her roots and makes her music easier to find.
Gibson and Epiphone Connection
Adèle values quality instruments. She believes her Gibson and Epiphone guitars match the depth of her message. These iconic brands help her shape a powerful sound and identity.

Growth, Challenges, and Defining Moments
Since forming SAARKIE in 2005, Adèle has evolved as both a woman and a musician. She embraces authenticity over commercial pressure, focusing on the message and creative journey.
The rock scene can be challenging for women, but Adèle’s advice is clear: stay true to yourself. Authenticity strengthens the message, and nothing speaks louder than truth.
Her album Name in the Sky remains one of her most transformative experiences. During its creation, she spent nights under the stars, meditating and connecting with the universe.

Looking Ahead
Adèle remains passionate about writing, collaborating, and performing. Future goals include creating more music and performing in America. Her drive is fueled by joy, truth, and creativity.
“The more authentic something is, the stronger the message is. Nothing speaks like the truth.” – Adèle Fouché
